FILM SUBMISSION – COMPETITION

Starting on September 1, goEast invites Central and Eastern European filmmakers, producers and distributors to submit their feature films and documentaries (60 min or longer) for the 24th edition of goEast – Festival of Central and Eastern European Film. The deadline is 31 December 2023. The 24th edition of goEast will take place in Wiesbaden from 24 to 30 April 2024.

The international Main Competition is the centerpiece of goEast. It reflects the rich diversity of filmmaking in Central and Eastern Europe with new productions from 2023 and 2024. The films compete for awards which are given by a five-member international jury: the Golden Lily for Best Film, the Award of the City of Wiesbaden for Best Director as well as the CEEOL Award for Best Documentary Film. In addition, a dedicated jury representing FIPRESCI presents two International Film Critic’s Awards. Our longstanding media patron 3sat selects one fiction film from the competition each year for an acquisition offer, after which, in case the rightsholders accept, the film will be broadcasted on German national television.

Please read the Terms & Conditions before submitting your film!

Contact the festival team, if you have any questions regarding the submission process.
